June 3, 2010, Rocky Mountain National Park, CO

MOOSE!
Gotta love Colorado!

We had a pretty easy drive to RMNP. We decided to try the West side campground because it’s suppose to be less popular and we hadn’t been here before. The park has been decimated by the pine bark beetle. There are very few trees left in the Timber Creek Campground where we are. There were only a couple of tent campers here so we had our pick of the RV sites. We got the best site in the park, a pull-through, overlooking part of the park that is closed. It’s a beautiful area, even with the lack of trees. There are snow-covered mountains right outside our window.
